SMS Messaging Terms

CampusSteward LLC · Effective July 19, 2026 · Version 1.0

These SMS Messaging Terms describe the text messages CampusSteward sends, who receives them, and how to stop them. They form part of our Terms of Service.

Text messaging is optional. You can use every part of CampusSteward without it, and consent to receive messages is never a condition of using the Service or of any purchase.

1. Who sends the messages

Messages are sent by CampusSteward LLC on behalf of the school or district whose account you belong to. They come from a number registered to CampusSteward.

2. What you will receive

Sign-in codes: a one-time code when you sign in, or when you confirm a change to your account security.

Account alerts: notice of events on your own account, such as a sign-in from a new device or a change to your password or phone number.

Emergency and safety alerts issued by your School or district. These are sent to everyone the School designates as an audience for the event, and they may arrive at any hour. The kinds a School can issue are: lockdown; evacuation; shelter in place; weather emergency; transportation alert; power outage; medical emergency; security alert; and school closure.

Emergency alerts are written by an authorized person at your School at the moment of the event, so their wording is not fixed in advance and may include a location or a callback number.

Notifications you switch on: the categories you have enabled in your account, which may include tickets assigned to you, approvals waiting on you, and messages sent to you inside the Service.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

3. How often

Message frequency varies and depends on your own settings and on activity at your site. Sign-in codes arrive only when you sign in. Alerts arrive only when something happens on your account. Notification volume is whatever you have chosen to switch on, and you can change it at any time in your account.

4. Cost

CampusSteward does not charge for text messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan and your carrier.

5. How to opt in

You opt in from Account → Security by entering your mobile number and ticking the consent box. The box is never pre-selected, and the wording you agreed to is recorded with the date and time.

Nobody can opt you in on your behalf. An administrator can see whether you are opted in; they cannot tick the box for you.

6. HELP and STOP

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts to that number. We will send one final message confirming it, and nothing after that.

Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at contact@campussteward.com.

You can also opt out at any time by clearing the consent box in Account → Security, which has the same effect as replying STOP.

Stopping texts stops EMERGENCY AND SAFETY ALERTS too. Your School will still send those by email and by any other method it uses, but you will not receive them by text. Consider that before opting out, and tell your School if you want to be reached another way.

7. Your mobile number is not shared

We do not sell your mobile number, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Mobile numbers and consent are shared only with the messaging providers that deliver the messages for us, and only so they can be delivered. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

8. Carrier limitations

Delivery depends on your mobile carrier and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Because delivery cannot be guaranteed, do not rely on text messages as your only route to a sign-in code. Every account can also use an authenticator app.

9. Keeping your number current

If you give up a mobile number, remove it from your account. Numbers are reassigned, and a security alert meant for you should not arrive on somebody else's phone.
