Acceptable Use Policy

CampusSteward LLC · Effective July 19, 2026 · Version 1.0

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how you may use the CampusSteward Service. It is incorporated into and part of the Terms of Service. Your School may also have its own acceptable-use and technology policies, which apply in addition to this AUP.

1. Permitted use

You may use the Service only for lawful educational and site-operational purposes, in the role your Site has assigned you, and in accordance with the Terms of Service, this AUP, and your Site's policies.

2. Prohibited conduct

You must not: (a) access data or features outside your assigned role or authorization; (b) share or misuse credentials, or impersonate another person; (c) upload or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, infringing, or harmful, or that contains malware; (d) attempt to probe, scan, or breach security, or gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data; (e) interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; (f) use the Service to collect or misuse others' personal information; or (g) use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others.

3. Accounts and security responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity under your account. Use strong authentication where available, and report suspected unauthorized use to your School administrator or contact@campussteward.com promptly.

4. Content filtering and monitoring (support for school internet-safety obligations)

Where the Service provides content-filtering or monitoring features, those features are designed to help a School operate its own internet-safety program — for example, features capable of helping block visual depictions that are obscene, child pornography, or harmful to minors, and features that assist a School in monitoring minors' online activity. (See the Children's Internet Protection Act, 47 U.S.C. § 254(h)(5)(B), (h)(7)(I), and § 254(h)(5)(B)(i).)

These features assist, and do not replace, the School's own obligations. The School remains solely responsible for adopting, certifying, and enforcing its internet-safety policy, including educating minors about appropriate online behavior and cyberbullying awareness and response, and for providing public notice and holding at least one public hearing before adopting the policy. (47 U.S.C. § 254(h)(5)(B)(iii), (A)(iii).) CampusSteward does not certify a School's internet-safety compliance on its behalf.

No filtering or monitoring technology is perfect; CampusSteward does not warrant that any such feature will block all objectionable or harmful material (see the disclaimer in the Terms of Service).

5. Privacy and data handling by users

When you handle other people's personal information in the Service — especially student information — you must access and use it only as your role and your Site's policies permit, and only for legitimate educational purposes. Do not export, copy, or share student information except as authorized.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or restrict access to protect the Service, its users, or data. Your Site may also take action under its own policies. Serious or unlawful conduct may be reported to the Site or to authorities as appropriate.
